I am an extremely passionate artist and looking to pass along the love I have for music onto willing students. I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2015 with two degrees, a Bachlor of Music in Music Education and a BM in Music Composition. I am currently attending the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT, where I am pursuing a Masters in Music Composition. Over the years, my students have consistently placed high in the Western Region Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Orchestra, and several of them have gone on to the extremely competitive Connecticut All-State Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Orchestra. Four of my students have successfully auditioned for the summer program at Interlochen. I have had two of my high school aged students have gone on to Harvard, one to Amherst, and three to Yale - all of whom played in the Yale Concert Band, Yale Jazz Ensemble, and/or Yale Symphony Orchestra. My greatest accomplishment in teaching over the years has been to help students enjoy the music that they really want to play. This takes a great deal of devotion and research into finding the resources that students need to find the music they love best. I am a firm believer in a positive approach to teaching, concentrating not on mindless rote repetition, but on the artistic method where students can learn to improve and always make the music more and more impressive.
