I teach in a fun and customized way. Since I have taught for almost 15 years from Kindergarten to adults, I use a simple language in order to explain the fundamentals of Technic. I'm always encouraging students to play for large audiences, and I create a fun environment in order to build confidence in the students. Always complimenting my lessons with new songs, scales, pieces at the peak of technical skills in order to build a great performer. Read More

Since teaching was easy for me I've shared with students all along as I myself worked on my skills. I've had the joy of studying under great masters and I've modeled my teaching style around them. I'm eclectic when it comes to musical styles for I myself had too many loves. I'm trained in classical and jazz disciplines but have performed/recorded and produced others styles such as rock, pop and latin. Read More

I have taught at several music schools, as well as teaching privately in my own home studio. I recently started to offer online lessons as well. I am also a full time instructor at The New World School of the Arts. Read More

I started teaching 9 years ago. I really enjoy, and love seeing the progress with my students. Having fun is key. Learning to play an instrument or singing tends to quickly evolve as the students catches interest. Approaching the lessons from a natural and easy to understand method results into a second nature and a more excelling learning approach. Being able to learn a specific or different genres of music from Classical, Pop, R&B, Jazz, Contemporary Christian, Reggae, Latin etc is also a way to develop the student interest. Read More

It is rewarding when a student progresses satisfactorily and begins to feel that passion for music and to continue overcoming challenges. As a teacher my biggest challenge is to get the student to feel comfortable with his instrument and get a good rhythm of study that allows him to develop all his abilities. All students are different, which is why different pedagogical strategies must be applied according to the case Read More

When will I start to see results?
Obviously, it depends on each person, and their interest in learning, the time they have to practice the instrument as well as the success in the approach of the musical pieces and the ideal repertoire for each student.
Some of my students have had to take more time than others to understand how to play a piece of music, but they are so determined to do so that in the end they succeed.
On the other hand, teachers must be clear enough when it comes to reminding students (and their parents!) That success in a field of human knowledge does not mean that we will succeed in everything we do in life.
Some of us have a great visual memory, others a good ear, others a great physical capacity (with fingers, for example, on the piano).
In any case, you did it great, keep practicing!
Did you have a teacher that inspired you to go into music? How did they inspire you?
ALL my teachers!
In my case my teaching was always inspired in the saying "no pain, no gain".
As I always was certain in developing a musical life (more than a career, a life), today I am grateful for that advise. I always was lucky because that besides that saying my teachers give me opportunities and lots of love, comprehension and faith in my talent.
With all my experience, today I put before the love, the enthusiasm, the encouraging, the perpetual stimulus and positive attitude and the faith in my students. They will discover on their own, that they have to do their best in everything they do to succeed.
What advice do you have about practicing effectively?
Again, each person is a world in itself.
Some have more time and /or interest to practice.
Especially children, you find them overwhelmed for the amount of conventional homework they have to do each day. Some of the students will probably not study as much as they should, but the key, I should say, is to do it every day, independently of the time they have for it.
Other matter is the way in which they have to study. I give to my students several hints of how to do the effective studying in contraposition to the general thinking that studying more time is the key. It is, I believe, more important how do you study.
How do I know if my child is ready to start lessons?
Everybody is ready to start lessons, really.
Now, once said that we should address the theme of if are the parents or the children (hopefully both!) who are interested in music lessons.
Sometimes, the kid does not understand why has to learn anything related to music when what they want is, for instance, dance, or do some sport.
So the parents should talk to those children (not easy and requires a lot of love, I know it as a parent!) and explain the immense benefits for their psychological and spiritual development but also to help them with the study and comprehension of other fields of knowledge as are Maths!
In any case I will say, give music a chance!
