I'm a lifelong teacher. I always knew teaching was what I wanted to do. My first guinea pig was my little brother, who's seven years younger than I. I've always been able to relate to all ages and all types of people. I've taught in a variety of settings: Schools, music stores and my own independent studio. I really enjoy seeing the light bulb go off in a student's head. Read More

Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Trumpet, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Double Bass

For beginning folk/pop guitar students I use the Hal Leonard Guitar Method. For Classical guitar I use a combination of various resources, including Segovia scales, Sor studies, Guilianni right-hand studies and Frederick Noad method books. I definitely encourage students to work towards performance of the music they are working on, and try to schedule recital/performance opportunities as students deveope and gain mastery over their material. I always try to maintain a healthy balance between keeping the student working on music that challenges them, and advances their technique, with the need to have fun and enjoy the playing of a musical instrument as a means of entertainment and relaxation. I encourage students to share with me their favorite bands, and if it happens to be someone I'm unfamiliar with, it becomes a learning experience for us both as I teach the techniques required to play their favorite tunes. Instruments: Bass Guitar

I strive to keep the lessons and bass fun by not placing a heavy workload and stenous practice regiments in the beginning. Rather I hope the student practices more than I request in the beginning and as stamina, knowledge, and interest compound also compound the workload. Read More
