In 2002, I was the musical director for the Roadhouse Theaters production of Kurt Weills Threepenny Opera. I joined the Bluesbeaters (Against the World Enterprises) in 2005 and have performed 100 shows a year including 30 a year at PeaknPeek resort from 2005 to 2013. We currently perform monthly to packed houses at the Bullfrog Bar in Erie and are a favorite at many private events. I started taking private music lessons at age 7 and never stopped! From piano, to flute, and eventually to electric bass and upright bass. Supplemented by music programs through my schooling, I progressed rapidly on upright bass, starting at age 15, and graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance. Starting in high school I began teaching students as young as 6 and as old as 65, providing in-home guitar and bass lessons. What I have found works best with semi-slow but significant results is the idea of 'planting seeds'. I describe this concept quite regularly with my students, and what I mean by it is that we will often talk about important musical ideas and simply make the student aware of what's happening. Now, at twenty-five, I have had the opportunity to teach people from all walks of life, with ages ranging from 6 to 60!  I encourage students to practice "perfect practice", which means they are as relaxed as possible when practicing (mentally and physically).
