I don't believe in a one size fits all mentality for music education, I've often seen this approach derail students from enjoying the process and eventually terminating their relationship with music overall. I love music and I love teaching. I went to college to study Music and Theatre. After school, I toured the US and parts of the world for nine years in the vocal group Chapter 6. We were the youngest group ever to win the National Harmony Sweepstakes competition and the only group to ever win it and the International Championship of Collegiate A cappella. Not only did I learn about midi and music industry standards, I also had the opportunity to work with really amazing artists. One of my professors Mike Lacopelli was the recording engineer for Parliament as well as ran live sound for Aretha Franklin for 8 years. Later in my college career I began playing synthesizer with a band and working for Delta States Studio.
