We've been featured on No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain, the NBC tv show Revolution, the Daily Show (back when it was John Stewart still!), NPR, CMT, Rolling Stone, BBC, and were in the major motion picture musical Pitch Perfect 3. My teaching style is taught with expectations. Although I aim to move at the student's learning pace, it is important to hold accountability on the student's behalf when we're not instruction. Consistent practice will be necessary for growth and I like to check in with students 2 days before next lessons to ensure the material has been understood and reviewed. From this point we can ensure progress. For beginning students I tend to start with them learning the basic elements of the instruments and go over exercises that help familiarize them with the instrument. I then will start the student in the Hal Leonard's Essential ELements of books. After they have gained a grasp of the fundamentals I will start to focus more on the type of music they will learn.
