Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I find the most rewarding thing about teaching music is the spark that ignites in each individual student to blossom into a musician. The importance of each student is reflected in individual curriculum designed or each student. I believe in the idea that no student is the same. I base how fast my lessons advance on how quickly the student learns and how often the student practices on his/her own. I ask my students to play their instrument every day. I believe encouragementis much more productive than criticism, so I will acknowledge a students accomplishments regularly to keep them motivated. Read More

I don't have a concrete syllabus or lesson plan, because each student is at a different point of their musicianship. My goal is to challenge the student to where they have to put in effort to improve, but at the same time not overwhelm them so they do not lose interest or become discouraged. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 1977, I graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performance. In 1999, I was certified to teach Music K-12 by the state of North Carolina after attending NC Central University. Performing all over the US has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play in North Carolina, Virginia, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Kansas, Alabama, Ohio, Florida, and Connecticut. From 2005-2006 I served on the faculty at Music Academy of North Carolina in Greensboro. After completing my Master's Degree, I joined the faculty at Central Piedmont Community College in 2011, where I have taught several classes including Applied Guitar, Instrumental Repertoire, History of Rock and Roll, Music Appreciation, and Fundamentals of Theory.
