When it comes to my approach, I usually structure my lessons around each student's personal goal. The main book I teach out of are the Hal Leonard's Essential Elements books. While I still use others, these are the most reliable and consistent when it comes to teaching. From there, I also include songs that are based around the style and technique that the student is trying to achieve. My spark of inspiration to teach comes from my years performing in college as part of my own band, as well as jazz ensemble and guitar ensemble.
