Instruments: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Lap Steel Guitar, Ukulele, Double Bass, Music, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

The main thing my years of lesson-giving has taught me is that everyone takes it in a little differently, but everyone needs to practice each and every day! Some work well with tabs, others learn by watching, still others are most comfortable with the formality of traditional notation. All these roads can lead to the goal of making music provided the student is motivated to pick up the instrument regularily. Read More

Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Drums, Bass Guitar

My approach varies depending on the student's skill level and chosen instrument, but for beginners I always try to get them familiarized with their instrument: teaching them the basics of reading music and how to navigate the different keys (or strings, etc.). From there I start teaching various musical concepts, the rudiments of music theory, and begin introducing them to different styles of music. When the student is advanced enough, I start having them run through my own custom designed technique and skill drills, and have them start selecting music that they would like to perform on their own. Instruments: Bass Guitar

For my students I create customize lesson plans each month. These lesson plans are tailored to the students goals and skill level. In the lessons I began with finger exercises and practicing scales. After this warm up I teach with Hal Leonard Method Book's for both Bass and Guitar students. Towards the end of each lesson I work with the students on a song/recital piece of their choice. I always ensure that all of my students understand the theory/concepts behind the exercises and songs they are practicing. Read More

Firstly, I teach the student the anatomy of the guitar and how to tune it, along with how to hold a pick. After that, I start teaching students how to identify notes on the fretboard. When they have a good grasp on that, I start to teach the basic modes, such as the major, minor, pentatonic, blues, lydian, mixolydian, and dorian modes, and while they are learning these, I give them exercises that use these modes to increase the student's mechanical skill, such as going up and down the scales in patterns of three/four/etc. Read More

Instruments: Guitar, Bass Guitar

Growing up in a musical family, I didn't pick up an instrument until the age of 18. I played in a small punk band briefly in 2000-2001 then focused on family for several years. I began giving guitar and bass lessons around 2010 to local high school and middle school students until 2013, when I began playing local jam nights and played in 2 local cover bands as well a Celt punk band called Lucky Lad Green.
