This includes music history, theory and listening to music by artists that the student admires. Although learning guitar is achieved mostly from hands on the instrument there are many valuable lessons that can be learned through encouraging the student to simply learn to listen to music, and, by listening I encourage them to be inquisitive and find out how and why the music they like sounds the way it does.
