Though my specialty is in music composition, my undergraduate degree is in guitar and choral education, and I have been teaching guitar for over 10 years, to students from 5 - 80. Because I feel music is more of an expression before it is a discipline, I am a strong believer in giving tools of discipline as they are needed, rather than forcing a student into a rigor just because it worked for a different student with a different personality.
