I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love for music. In 2017 I graduated with my BA in Music with an emphasis on Tuba from Texas State University. In 2018 I started my graduate work in Jazz Studies at Texas State University and will complete my degree in the Fall of 2019. I believe in the philosophy of and empty cup. My lessons are not built for me to tell the student what to do, but rather learn how they learn and research the best practices for reaching that student. There is no "cookie cutter" method that works for all students, because everyone learns and comprehends a little bit differently. I remain sensitive to that and patient with my students. Being in the studio and creating songs had me pick up the piano, ukulele, and bass guitar which I then took on as instruments I teach. Through the years, I learned to concurrently teach the musical fundamentals to my students along with how those fundamentals apply to their instrument in a broad context! My teaching experience began at a young age. I started volunteering lessons for the youth in my church. I played keyboard on the worship team for several years and some youth students showed interest so I would teach them every now and then. In 2017, I started teaching private lessons at a studio in Fort Worth. I have seen what hard work and diligent practice schedule can produce, I have had students that teach at University and others play with "A" circut bands, and yet others have their own Guitar methods, web site and are very succesful! The greatest skill a teacher can have is determining how to relate the information in a way that causes the student to want to practice and become better.
