I've been teaching guitar for the past 12 years, and more recently bass, ukulele, piano/keys, voice, percussion and studio recording as well. I have taught students ranging from child to adult, as well as working for two years as a caretaker with mentally challenged and special needs individuals. I am able to teach with a method book, and also without one. I have found success with the Hal Leonard method books and the William Leavitt books. I also enjoy going outside of the method books, writing out lessons by hand, and teaching the student songs and techniques they wish to learn. For complete beginners, I start out by teaching the student the names of the strings on the guitar and go into basic chords. Read More
