While the blues haven’t been around as long as some other forms of music, the history of the blues is a rich and fascinating story. Some say that the Blues originated from mysticism surrounding the Indigo plant which was used in West African cultures during death and mourning ceremonies. There is also a legend that Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil at Crossroads to achieve his success and become King of the Delta Blues. No one can deny the importance that Blues has played in the formation of modern day music and our culture.
