I believe the student is there to find a passion. It is so important to find love for the art, and this is what I try to provide. A lead-by-example approach is the core of what I do. I "draw" the student toward their own voice. It is imperative to help them find their own "style." The greatest musicians are true originals; and so I do not encourage my students to follow in my footsteps, but to blaze their own trails. Read More

I have toured with Eric Genuis Concerts for Hope, performing piano trio music in state prisons across the US. I have been a soloist with the Valley Winds, Holyoke Civic Symphony, Interlochen Arts Academy Choir, and a featured performer with the Opus One Chamber Orchestra, Purchase Symphony Orchestra, and New York Virtuosi Orchestra. I have been guest principal cello with the New York Chamber Players, Mid-Atlantic Symphony, Glens Falls Symphony, Garden State Philharmonic, and performed with the cellos sections of the Savannah Philharmonic, Monteux Festival Orchestra, Brooklyn Metro Chamber Ensemble, Long Island Concert Orchestra, and New York Metamorphosis Ensemble. For beginner students I usually start with teaching the fundamentals of how to hold the cello and bow and how to make a sound, using Pizzicato and bow movement. I then introduce the Suzuki volume 1-4 books and make sure that the student learns a piece that will help him or her improve the most but at the same time will ensure an enjoyable and successful learning experience. For intermediate and advanced students I usually get familiarized with the student's skill level during the first lesson and build an individual curriculum for each student that will involve pieces the student loves and wants to play, pieces that will challenge the student, and pieces that will help the student reach his or her goals as a cellist and musician Read More

I began playing cello in elementary school, and not soon after began participating in Youth Orchestras both in New Jersey and in New York. After attending several music festivals over the summer, I took an interest in music as a career. After attending New York University for two years, I decided to transfer over to the Manhattan School of Music to have a more career-focused education. Read More
Instruments: Violin, Cello, Viola, Ukulele
Everything depends on what instrument the student is learning. For violin, viola, and cello lessons I typically use a few different method books and handout sheets for the first few lessons, and then switch to using Suzuki books once the basic concepts have been mastered. For ukulele students I try to find out what the student is interested and tailor their lessons to include the types of songs they want to learn to play. Read More
