Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Instruments: Cello
I gravitate towards the Essential Elements for Strings books for beginner students because the books so effortlessly combine the first steps of cello playing with basic concepts of music theory and history. I then use a combination of cello duets, etudes (like Dotzauer and S.Lee), and method books (Feuillard) for technical studies. I always incorporate traditional music for the cello (like Bach Cello Suites, famous cello concertos), but work with students on whatever music they enjoy. Read More

Luke is a cellist based in the New York area. As an orchestral musician Luke has toured extensively including China and Scandinavia and was a regular member of the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra. Until June 2011, Luke lived and performed in Austin, Texas playing popular and folk music and touring the southern part of the United States. He has a B.A. in music performance from Stony Brook University, studying under renowned soloist Colin Carr and the Emerson String Quartet. Read More

Sarah is also a passionate chamber musician, and in December 2016 her piano trio made its Carnegie Hall debut in Weill Recital Hall. In recital, notable performances include concerts at the Bohemian National Hall, The Frick Collection, Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, Ernst C. Stiefel Concert Hall, Church of the Holy Trinity, and the Hungarian House. Additional chamber music highlights include performances with on Music Ensemble at Carnegie Halls Zankel Hall and collaboration with soprano Susanna Phillips at the Guggenheim Museum and French Institute Alliance Francoise. I believe that each person has a unique set of skills and characteristics through which he or she acquires knowledge, maintains and improves the acquired knowledge, and uses it to his or her benefit. Therefore, although I do have a system that I follow, I attend to the specific strong and weak points of each student. My goal is to be present in each and every lesson and to focus on each student's current level with the understanding that only through direct and personal guidance could my students improve and thrive. I'm a NY certified music educator and I absolutely love teaching music. I graduated in 2018 from Houghton College with a degree in music education. Last year I taught middle school orchestra and general music at a public school outside of Syracuse. I taught private viola and cello lessons during college to other music education majors, and this year I have a studio in Owego.
