Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For stringed instruments, I uses the Suzuki method for teaching the basic repertory of the instruments. This method is an ear training method in which the student plays by ear. It starts out very simple so students of all ages can learn and progress very quickly. For learning to read music I use one of the method books like "A Tune a day" or Strictly Strings which teach the fundamentals of read music and music theory. Read More

My teaching style is based on showing the student what works and has worked for me in the past. I draw on my own private lesson experiences as well as ways to do things that I have discovered on my own, outside the private lesson studio. I place a high value and focus on technique, especially fingering and position work, and I am very strict when it comes to rhythm and playing in time. Read More

Additionally, I place a strong emphasis on selecting pieces that resonate with each student's preferences, thereby enhancing motivation during practice sessions. I am proud to share that my current students have achieved notable success, including placements in state competitions and acceptance into major youth orchestras. I started teaching in high school about 15 years ago. I worked with a project that allowed elementary and Jr. High students to be taught by the high school students. It was the first of many unbelievably enjoyable moments. I have found teaching cello to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. When receiving a student I first like to get to know the student by friending them. Asking question as to what their likes are and just getting to know them. For the beginner we start of with a Method book that fits their age and personaity and go from there. For the student that already has had past music experience I like to hear them play at first and see at what level they are to be able to place them on the correct method. Read More
