Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in various studios since then. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

My life is unimaginable to me without music. As a music major, I began performing and gigging. I discovered that I enjoyed playing not only classical music, but musicals, pop, and rock as well. Nearer to graduation, I began teaching privately, eventually becoming a full-time public school orchestra teacher in Augusta. I moved to Pittsburgh in 2011, where I happily continue my career as a string/voice/keys teacher, and performer primarily on voice, violin, and cello with Midnight Vinyl Duet. Read More

Every student moves at a different pace, so I move as fast as they are looking to move. My biggest goal for a student is for the experience to be good, and to be fun. Thanks to my Peruvian heritage, I had no shortage of exposure to music and musical expression growing up. From a young age, I danced and sang with family, watched as they made makeshift percussion instruments out of spoons, and pretended to be an expert at the pan flute like the musicians in the videos I watched. I love bringing the same connection and love for music to my students that my family and teachers brought to me. Read More

I was a cello teacher for a long time in many programs in South America, so I taught different kind of ages and different levels. I want to encourage my students to enter competitions and recitals, as well on composing their own material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn.
