I graduated from CCM in 2013 and McGill in 2019 with degrees in cello performance from both schools. I am sure to acknowledge accomplishments, not only by finding and setting milestones with each student to discover during lessons, but by (as effectively as I can) creating opportunities for students to perform a recital and demonstrate what they have learned for friends and family. I also make a point of ensuring students know that their lessons with me are a safe and inclusive space. My teaching experience dates back to high school when I had only a couple of cello students. Since then, I have continued to teach and gain valuable experience both in private and group lesson settings, and with younger and older students. Going into my sophomore year of college, I realized just how much I loved teaching. I ask all of my students to be prepared for their lessons with a notebook and pencil for lesson notes and assignments. I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with. I graduated from Galileo University in 2007 and I was a formal member of the National Symphony of Guatemala. I studied in the National Conservatory of Music of Guatemala and I began my teaching experience there for a few years as assistant professor.
