As someone who's played cello for the past 2 decades, I can say with certainty through my own experience, that the most effective teachers are the ones who adapt to each student. When a teacher uses sort of a "cookie cutter" teaching method and applies the same lessons to each and every student, students often don't get the proper attention they need for for specific aspects of their playing. I'm an acoustic and electric cellist multi-instrumentalist who is passionate about creativity and music as a means to joy! In 2019, I graduated from Temple University with a B.M. in Music Therapy/Cello where I studied both classical and jazz music. I've been playing cello for 13 years in orchestras, quartets, jazz combos, and my personal favorite, rock bands. I have a "less talk, more play" approach to music. People learn instruments because they want to play music, and that is always the focus in my lessons. While some instructors incessantly talk about theory, history, and other music concepts, I prefer to keep the talking to a minimum and have my students play their instrument as much as possible.
