I first began teaching upon the completion of my undergraduate studies in 2004. At that time the majority of my students were beginners in their first or second year of playing. By 2008 I had completed the first of my two graduate degrees in music. With this accomplishment the students seeking lessons with me generally became older, typically in the junior high and high school ages. I have been teaching students for about twelve years.  I held graduate teaching assistantships at the University of Florida, Boston University and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.  In addition, I woas a contracted instructor at a private K-6 school in Chestnut Hill, MA.  My students have won auditions and competitions at both the professional and collegiate levels.  While I am passionate and very serious about the art, I also feel it is important to enjoy playing and studying music. I like to get students as much into "the real world" as possible, so I push for getting students performing as much as they are learning. I have taught privately now for over a decade, as well as in classrooms and given masterclasses to all ages. I worked with pre-K through to the collegiate level in Philadelphia. I also work in communities, bridging gaps geographically and ideologically through musical experiences. I have taught in the United States, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. I recently completed my Bachelors Degree in Music Education at Penn State University where I also studied Clarinet. I am devoted to becoming the best performer that I can be as well as the best teacher that I can be, as I see the areas enhancing one another. I am currently working towards my Masters Degree in Clarinet Performance at Duquesne University.
