For students with moderate experience and advanced students I find it helpful to work on repertoire that interests the students. I have had the opportunity to play at the Christian Asbury Universitys Akers Auditorium, as well as the University of Kentuckys Singletary Center for the Arts in Lexington, Kentucky. Since I used to be a middle school band director, I am extremely familiar with the teaching beginners. I customize all lessons to each student's goals. After students have passed through the fundamentals, we will work out of the Rubank intermediate or advanced books for technique development.
