I base my materials depending on who my student is, what level they are at, their interests, and their goals.  We will focus on building a proper foundation and every aspect of music making including posture, embouchure, breath support, articulation, phrasing, intonation, performances, and more.  Every student will have lessons directly tailored toward their needs. I have been playing the clarinet for 33 years.    Although; clarinet is my primary instrument, I actually started my musical career on the viola and have been playing that for 34 years.   During the course of my career, I have had the unique experience of leading a bag pipe band.  I have also made a special emphasis on my studies in Latin percussion due to my background in Salsa music. I am a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I received my Masters of Music in Trumpet Performance with Eric Berlin. In my time there, I was a member of the Graduate Brass Quintet, Faculty Brass Quintet, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Trumpet Ensemble. I also had the opportunity to perform on two concerts with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra in Symphony Hall. I did my undergraduate work at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, where I received two Bachelors of Music, in Trumpet performance and Music Education. Read More
