I approach teaching in a very relaxed manner. If my students learn in a certain type of way I will differentiate my teaching style to accommodate them. I believe all students can learn and enjoy music, it is just a matter of finding the way that speaks to them the most. My teaching style is firm yet easygoing and fun..I expect the student to have practiced and be ready to play their homework back to me. I use repetition quite a bit but that's the best way, I find, that someone learns. I also encourage them to investigate and practice things that have not necessarily been assigned in order to see how serious they are.
