I have been teaching since age 15 (1999). In addition to extensive performing experience on clarinet, I have functioned as a piano accompanist, choir member, and praise band member through the years. For students, if any caliber, I start by teaching fundamentals. Fundamentals make it possible to enjoy playing the instrument. This includes things like scales, breathing exercises, warmups. After that I then will begin teaching skills. Often times, when playing an instrument, one skill is made up of multiple skills. I like to focus on the smaller skills and fine tune them so students can grow on their instruments. It was a great honor. Late into highschool I was accepted at the DCI CADETS for 3rd trumpet part. This is the second best drum corp (at the time) in the world out of over a dozen different division 1 corps. I unfortunately was not able to perform with them, however it was a great honor just being able to be accepted and to practice with them for 4 months in New Jersey. Read More
