My loveof music began at a young age through playing piano, percussion, and guitarand continued to grow throughout my years of schooling. I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in May of 2013 with my Bachelor of Music degree with a Concentration in Music Composition. I have since been spreading my knowledge of music throughoutmy local community through teaching, playing, and composition. I have released twomusic albums, one in 2011 andthe other in 2013,in which Iplayed percussion, drum set, guitar, bass guitar,keyboard, and sang while also recording, electronically programming,composing, and producing the albums myself.I have been building my studiofor over eight years and have acquired many pieces of equipment that help me teach, compose, play, and produce music. I've been teaching most of my adult life. I started tutoring while still in high school, and I continued as a teaching assistant as a college student. I taught at Hope College for six years in a number of different subjects: saxophone, jazz ensembles, music theory, aural skills, piano class, and music appreciation. I even ran the percussion ensemble for one semester, which was a blast! I love my AF band job, but I do miss teaching full-time. Read More

Since I have had many different teachers in many different areas of my musical life, my philosophy is to be flexible and open as an instructor. I have learned many different methods and techniques, and depending on the type of lesson I'm teaching, I use whatever methods are relevant. All of these experiences inspired me to start my own record label and publishing company, Vibrato Music Group Inc., giving me the freedom to be a session drummer, songwriter, and record producer. Working with talented musicians every day has been the highlight of my career.
