I'm a passionate instructor who loves teaching. I've been a musician since I was 6. I started playing piano, then moved on to percussion. By age 12, I played piano, drums and guitar fluently. I continued my education up to my masters from Texas A&M University in 2012. Upon graduating, I started teaching in the brazos county area. I moved closer to Houston to expand my career. For beginning students I start all the way at the beginning with the basics of percussion, from the way to hold the sticks and mallets, to how to read music. After the student grasps the fundamentals I introduce solo pieces to build a repertoire so that they may grow their musical knowledge and become a better musician. My teaching style is just like most I think. I don't rush with the students. Always trying to go slow and make sure the students understands everything. I've gotten pretty good at figuring out when the students get what I'm trying to teach. If I feel like I'm going to fast I'll stop think about what I'm doing and slow down.
