My curriculum consists of proper match grip technique, the rudiments, limb independency, learning to play with dynamics, and a plethora of beats and fills designed to give the student the necessary tools to become a drum machine. I write out all lessons so that the student has something to refer to once the lesson is over. For percussionists and drummers starting out, they'll start with just a practice pad and a pair of sticks, and the first "Alfred's Drum Method" book. From there, after a bit of progression, I'll add material based on the student's interests. For starting pianists, I work with pianists through the Faber series. I'm a band director with 25 years of experience who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. Clarinet is my primary instrument, and I feel comfortable teaching all levels of clarinet students.
