After over7+ years of teaching and over 20+ years of musical expereince, I have combined the use of numerous books into my own method. Much of what I have learned also comes from personal expereince. I use audio tracks I record in my studio to give students the experience of playing with other musicians. They practice with their instrument in the track, and I also give them a track without their instrument so they get the feel of being the drummer, or the keyboard player, or the guitarist. Read More

We will mostly learn things that you can practically apply to any gig and that also help develop their overall understanding of their role as a drummer on stage and in a group setting. Knowing this is crucial for any aspiring musician because you will always be on stage with other people and it's important to know your role in those situations. Of course we will also have fun and I always make sure to make room for just fun things the student wants to learn that may not be super applicable. Read More

When meeting a student, I want to find their "currency". Meaning, I want to find what makes them want to work and practice. There is nothing more rewarding than working for a goal and accomplishing it. I like finding music that my student wants to learn and making a music theory lesson that compliments the instrument lesson. I would ideally like my job with my students to be temporary. What I mean by that is to fill them up with all the knowledge and skills that they will be able to pick up their instrument(s) and sight read a piece or learn a piece without my help. Read More
