And thus so I invite students to journey outward and inward to begin (or continue) studying music from both a scholastic perspective as well as treating the art form as a purely aural experience. I started playing guitar at age 8. In my formative years I studied with various instructors around central Indianapolis until mid year of '85. Upon this time I studied a full year with James Lee Thorpe whom eventually played, toured recorded with Sweet F.A. They released albums with MCA Chrysalis Records. My teaching expierience dates back to my college days, I began teaching private lessons part time about 8 years ago in addition to that I also volunteer my time every summer teaching children at my church camp The Salvation Army Camp and Conference Center located in Bedford, IN. I have consistently been teaching students in my studio at my home church for the last 2 years. Encouraging daily practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points that I emphasize to students of any age. Read More
