Nothing is more important to me than seeing my students develop not only their skills as a player but also true passion for music. Whether I'm working with a youngster or an adult, I always employ a kind, encouraging and patient teaching style. First and foremost, I aim to create a fun and relaxed learning environment. I like to keep my students active by encouraging practice, showing them the results of practicing and exploring different types of styles. Should they want to perform, I like helping and preparing them for band auditions, big performances or their first band practice. I've taught students as young as 7 years old and as old as 63. My teaching methods are entirely based on the current abilities and individual learning style of each individual student.  I do reference a few standard and time-tested method books for various skill levels, however, every lesson will be customized to the goals and needs of the student. Hi! I am a full time middle school teacher based in Annapolis. I love working with children and families. In my free time, I teach, compose, and perform music in the Maryland/DC area. I've also had the opportunity to perform internationally (Spain, China, Argentina). I am trained in drums and guitar. When I'm not playing music, I'm listening to it :) I have strong communication skills and am responsible.
