My method of teaching is very detailed instruction. There are many books that tend to start with the assumption that you know something about music or that music is easy to just "pick up." I like to start from the students' most basic skill level and fill in all the gaps as they progress. Drums/Percussion: This being my main area of expertise, I can get you to where you want to be. My approach depends on your goals. For the drum set, my preferred approach is a bit like Mr. Miyagi in Karate Kid. We will begin away from the drum set doing isolated hand/foot exercises (will need a practice pad), analyzing together music the student is interested in, and hammering home the importance of a relaxed body and proper posture. For beginning students I select special lessons. I am careful to choose the appropriate music for each age. if there is a child, for me is very important the relationship with the parents, because they know a lot of goals from the child. For adults the communication is the fundamental thing, each have own aspirations. The topic for teach my students will be my passion.
