At the beginning, students will be handed easy lessons learning how to gain control of the sticks and their hands. Withing 2-3 lessons, a book will be introduced and weekly homework will be given. My teaching style is relaxed. I don't want to have a student stressed out about learning. I will give weekly homework that I will expect students to work on . If a student feels over loaded, I am willing to adjust the amount of homework they receive. Read More

All of my students receive custom lessons, written by myself, mixed in with standard lesson books. Since I have always believed that "one size does not necessarily fit all" I have found this to be a better approach to rapidly putting my students at the next level. Being able to read charts in marching percussion and drumset, in particular, will put you in a position of great demand when it comes to begin your professional career. (Some advanced players may not be interested in learning to read I will honor your attitudes in this area.) I am very passionate about music. I love to teach and pass along what i know so that others can continue to create music for profit and personal enjoyment. I am a very low pressure teacher. If you are not enjoying your time then no one is benefiting from the lessons. I use a marker board, books, a metronome, paper and pencils etc to tech lessons. I do not send home "homework" but i will assign practice exercises for students to do between classes and will check on the progress and results when we meet for our next lesson. Read More
