I have a few different methods depending on a students interests.  A majority of my current students study concert and/or marching percussion with me. With either of these styles, I like to start by developing their sense of timing, reading, and technique. For this, I use a combination of the Mitchell Peters books in addition to packets that I've developed over the past 10 years. My live performance experience includes playing with an instrumental band for house events for one year (drums). A rock band performing all around northern Indiana for three years(drums). I have been teaching on and off since 2010 and now teach almost exclusively from my home studio in Bloomington, IN. I've had the experience of teaching everyone from 4 year olds to advanced adult students and implemented various teaching methods for the many different minds learning styles.
