After years of studying piano, I expanded my musical journey by picking up the trombone, bass, guitar, and drums by the age of 12. I played with every type of group the university had to offer, including jazz bands, orchestras, concert bands, marching bands, percussion ensembles, steel drum ensembles, hand drum groups, musicals, accompaniment for the dance department, student recitals, rock bands, drum and bugle corps, and more. I continued with these groups while obtaining my Masters degree in Music performance, along with teaching undergraduate percussion majors, teaching university percussion ensembles, and assisting with the teaching of music major courses.
