Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. My methods vary from student to student. Everyone learns differently. Although i recommend learning how to read music, it is not required and there have been plenty of great drummers that do not read. A normal lesson consists of covering all aspects of learning an instrument. We will do things such as go over sight reading, playing along to tracks, studying what makes the drum set sound great, as well as listening to music and watching videos of drummers that inspire us. I have been interested in music since I was very young. At age 6 I performed my first song on the family piano from a recording, only heard by ear and a few minutes after listening to it carefully. I have also worked with music in conjunction with computers using MIDI technology and have composed my own original songs; re-arranged public domain songs and produced audio CDs using all the technology combined right in my own studio. Depending on the instrument I am instructing on I will take each student on their own path. I typically spend some time getting to know the student, understand their desires and passions for music, and their own personal style. When I understand that I can gauge where the lessons should go.
