I have a very personal and relaxed way of teaching that helps each student enjoy and advance on their chosen instrument at their pace. I prefer 60 minute sessions to have the time to fully evaluate and advance from the previous lesson and to move on to new material. It is important to me to get to know each student, and to custom tailor the curriculum for him or her. Method books appropriate to the instrument and level of skill are a large part of my teaching, and I also try to use technology and muti-media to make instruction more interesting and relevant. I use teaching strategies and techniques that help students progress faster with less frustration. Once my student is able to grasp basic fundamentals and a healthy proper tone and technique, I will then be able to incorporate solo repertoire for future recitals and contests.
