For beginning students, I typically start with the basic technique and understanding of how a Drum Stick reacts with a Drum Head. Proper Technique is crucial and is the primary variable in technical drumming. Intermediate students are great candidates for Matthew's Isolated Hand Technique. I am a Classical trained Pianist with 14 years British Classical training in Piano, that got involved in performing modern day music. As a result I understand playing on stage as well as doing music studio work. I have performed and toured professionally around the world playing keyboard, percussion and guitar.
