Through my academic study of music theory, history, and performance, I have been able to play with and learn from many accomplished musicians. In 2008 I graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, and since then have written for, recorded with, and played in many different bands throughout the country. Corey has taught and directed music and theatre for youth for over 15 years. Corey was born and raised in southern Oregon where he spent his youth performing live music and theatre on stages like the Ross Ragland Theatre, The Linkville Playhouse, Oregon Stage Works, and Oregon Shakespeare Festival. He has been playing the guitar and drums, as well as acting and directing, since he was 12 years old. For beginners who are children, I help them learn to identify what all the parts of the instrument are, and what they do. For example, I taught my 2-year-old niece how to play the ukulele by helping her learn how to play the string. After she became comfortable with playing the string, I then proceeded to teach her how to push down behind the shiny stick, the "fret."
