Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students succeed and enjoy learning music. I encourage the students to progress at their own pace, while offering some challenge at each level. I use incentives to encourage the students to continue to progress, while getting a sense of accomplishment. I am encouraging, gentle, demonstrate techniques, and help where students struggle. I like to have fun in the lesson and make the lessons enjoyable for the student. Read More

My parents are always pleased, in that I encourage all who want to participate as well. Read More

I taught elementary music for twenty plus years in the public school system (band, chorus, and classroom music). Additionally, I have taught private music lessons, traveling to my students’ homes and in my studio. I find being a teacher very rewarding because by imparting my musical knowledge, background, and experiences to my students, I can encourage and instill in them the same love of music that I was so fortunate to acquire. My method are getting with the student for a first lesson to see what they have done and what they are able to do. Then get them to play for me whatever they wish to play for me at the moment and then we will go from there. Depending on what they are able to do then I will decided what kind of warm-up to d with them. Like for myself I do 15 minutes of long-tones on oboe and then 10-15 minutes on English horn. Read More
