Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I typically begin my young students in the Suzuki Method for Flute, inwhich I have received the training for this method. For older students, I begin them in the Trvor Wye Method for Beginning Flute Students. I supplement both these methods with solos appropriate for their level and goals, such as UIL and other competitions. I find teaching more rewarding than performing. Seeing a student progress and make improvements gives me joy and seeing them find there own distinct beautiful sound is important to me. I like to know the students goals and purpose so I can tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. My favorite thing to teach is sound production and tone for the flute.
