It is my goal to customize the lesson experience for every student that I teach. Most beginners benefit from a method book, such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, which is a good starting place for most students. As students progress on their instrument, I choose the method books and solos that will best help them develop their talents as well as keep them engaged in the material. My teaching style is very regimented in the direction goal-setting and interests. Realistically setting goals is important for students of all abilities. Comparison from one student to the other is detrimental to the student's success as a musician, so I will tailor the progress to fit every need. My musical experience begins 18 years ago, I began to play in a symphony orchestra. I was also part of different bands and groups where the instruments I focused on were always flutes. With the experience that I gained, I began to teach beginner flute players, always taking keeping in mid that practice makes the master. As a teacher, I am always wanting to see my students enjoy what is happening in the music. I have wide spectrum of students that I have taught. Some have wanted to play an instrument casually and others wanted to go into the performance route. I am flexible when it comes to my teaching. I then attended Housatonic College where the Costanzo brothers, Sonny and Sam, headed the music department. Sonny is a renowned trombonist in the New York City area who has played over the years with Clark Terry’s big band and now leads his own.             One of the highlights into my ventures with jazz was to study under John Mehegan, noted scholar, author and educator.
