I began teaching the flute while at the University of Kentucky as an assistant to my professor Gordon Cole in his flute methods class to music educators. Since then, I have been teaching private lessons to middle and high school students. I do welcome beginners as well as adult students. I believe that teaching students how to practice is essential to their success. I also like to introduce pieces and exercises that appeal across all different genres in an effort to teach a holistic approach to music and the reach that the flute/piccolo has. Specifically, I like to use the Hal Leonard Rubank Method for Flute and work through those books, as this is the way I learned.  It's also important to incorporate solo pieces into their repertoire, as gaining experience with performance is a crucial element to overall musicianship. Hello! I just graduated from my masters degree from Ohio University in Clarinet Performance and earned my bachelor from Western Kentucky University in Music/Spanish. I started teaching band camp after my first year of college have not stopped, soon after that I started giving private lessons to clarinetist in the western Ky area and I realize that I loved it. Between WKU and Ohio University I have being a member and have played principal in many of these groups: Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Marching Band and Pep Band, Clarinet Choir and Chamber Music and Opera.
