Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. While I do not have much experience teaching music, I've been playing for over a decade, participating in both concert and marching ensembles, as well as Murray State's flute ensemble for several years. I also have plenty of experience working with children, both in my time working in daycares, primarily with ages 6 months through age 5, as well as volunteering helping with the children's choir at the church I grew up in and have attended my entire life. I have been in love with the flute for over 20 years. I studied flute performance at the University of Kentucky under Gordon Cole. I have taught numerous school age children but welcome adult students as well. I have done free lance work with the Lexington Ballet Theatre Orchestra as well as other professional gigs. I will ask the student for their goals and what they wish to accomplish by taking lessons. Once we establish a goal we can work on attaining that goal. During lessons I find it useful for students to learn some basic music theory as it helps understanding patterns that can be applied to the clarinet. I strongly focus on fundamentals especially when teaching younger players. My style of teaching is to prepare students for auditions and solo and ensemble festival. Read More
