I am a passionate and motivated instructor who is looking forward to sharing my love of music. I graduated Marshall University in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. While in my undergraduate degree I had the opportunity to perform in every ensemble (Jazz Band, Wind Symphony, Orchestra, Etc.) Marshall University had to offer. Because music and the flute is a constant art of improving, I find it beneficial to record students so they can hear themselves as others do. Having recordings of a student also allows them to remember where they started and where they have grown to. I find that positive reinforcement of all elements of flute playing are essential. I started teaching in band camp the summer after my first year of college and have continuously worked with several schools in KY. I have given lessons to students who are just starting out and high school students preparing for auditions and/other performances. I highly encourage students to start taking lessons as early as possible to establish good habits and break bad ones.
