This structure will vary with each student depending on their proficiency and interests. I believe that a good sound is the very basis of flute playing. For beginning students who are children, I use the Rubank Method for Flute as well as Pares Scales. Once they have become more advanced I assign more challenging etude and scale books. When the student has a grasp of the instrument,I present solo repertoire and orchestral excerpts tailored for each level.
