I am a versatile music teacher. As an undergraduate at Ithaca College, I learned each band and orchestra instrument from the college instructor. For example, I learned to play the oboe from the oboe professor. We had to make our own reeds and use them to play our final exam. Through this rigorous training, I learned to play all major scales and high school level music on the flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, French Horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and percussion. All instruments, including voice, learn the Major and minor scales with other scales being reserved for more advanced students. My teaching experience dates back to my high school years. I tutored my siblings while they were practicing the piano. In school band, I was the sectional leader who lead and taught new members learning how to play the flute. Those experiences became my motivation to be a good music teacher. I really enjoyed teaching different ages of students, learning from each other, and growing altogether.
