I began teaching as a young flutist, but started teaching private flute lessons during my freshmen year of college, and have been teaching both kids and adults since then. I have performed with the Skidmore College Orchestra as the principal flutist as well as the Skidmore Wind Ensemble, Skidmore Chorus, composition recitals, and vocal recitals. In 2018, I won second prize in the Skidmore Concerto Competition and performed Reineckes flute concerto with the Skidmore Orchestra in March, 2019. Read More

I am a self-taught saxophonist and pianist; and bring the enthusiasm and passion into all the music I perform and record professionally, as well as the lessons I teach. I am a permanently-certified NY State Social Studies Teacher, but have been teaching music, the music business, and giving lessons since 2002. In my private lessons I emphasize building a strong foundation in rhythm, intonation, and note accuracy.  I incorporate learning theory, and playing with musical intention into every lesson to develop maturity, even in young musicians.  My students are comfortable reading music, and have all the skills they need to practice effectively.  In addition, I have prepared many musicians for successful concerts, festivals, and gigs.
