Being the saxophone section leader for my schools marching band I was expected to make sure the members of my section knew what they were doing. If there happen to be someone who wanted to start taking on saxophone for the band, I was expected to teach them how to play. I first began teaching upon the completion of my undergraduate studies in 2004. At that time the majority of my students were beginners in their first or second year of playing. By 2008 I had completed the first of my two graduate degrees in music. With this accomplishment the students seeking lessons with me generally became older, typically in the junior high and high school ages. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who enjoys helping students unravel the mysteries of music. I graduated with honors from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2014. While studying at IUP, I was principal bassoon of our ensembles and played in many chamber groups as well. In 2015, I won the Graduate Assistantship at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. For beginning students who are children, I typically use Blocki method or another outstanding flute teachers methodic. Usually, kids can't concentrate on something more than fifteen or twenty minutes, so I usually try to find different types of games or interesting stories about flutes, notes, etc. Also, they love to play songs from their favorite cartoons or movies.
