I have 10+ years of professional performing and instructing experience. I have pupils who have received high marks in middle and high school MSBOA solo and ensemble competitions for clarinet and flute. I have also been providing private lessons virtually for the past year. I have run a summer keyboard class where I instructed 4-10 students weekly. My methodological procedures are determined solely on the level of the student and their performance ability. Oftentimes I tailor lessons that ive created in my past to create lesson plans for individual students. I oftentimes use action research methods in helping me determine whether or not the teaching method that is being used in the lesson is effective for the student receiving lessons. I began assisting teachers during high school for extra credit. It later became my job during Full Sail. I worked extensively with grades K-5 on reading, writing and math skills enrichment. When I graduated I started to see my joy was working with children and helping each individual get to their own "next level" and that is when I began teaching music privately. I encourage my students to enter competitions and recitals of which I help with the prep for and can conduct them there if need be.  Read More

My teaching experience is, in all honesty, very minimal. I taught lessons for a short period of time during my days in high school and was an assistant band director at Greenbrier Middle School for my senior year in high school (2021-2022). However, I have very extensive experience in my ensembles and instrumental history. I was 9th chair of flute and 4th chair of flute in my district's honor band in my sophomore and senior year (junior year N/A due to covid pandemic), and was a member of the Greenbrier High School Symphonic Wind Ensemble for my upperclassman years. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my student develop on the flute. It is a beautiful instrument and can have such style in all types of music. It is important that each student flourishes at their comfort to want to go forward and learn more. I like to encourage with realistic goals for each lesson and always acknowledge whatever progress made. Making the student to continue and want to learn more and eventually make beautiful music.
