Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Piano - there are as many method books as there are different kinds of pianos! I use, but am not limited to, the following: Faber, Noona, Wunderkeys, Pianotown, Alfred, Helen Mier, Snell, and more. I like to start any student that comes to me with what they already have. For a young student - I will start with Faber as it is the easiest to understand for younger players. Other than that - I gear the lessons to each individual student. Read More

There are several different method books that I like to use with my students based on age, knowledge/experience, and of course if the method book they use is something they will enjoy; it's very difficult if a student doesn't like the book they're using so I try to give them options. For beginners, I like to use John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course or the Schuam method books. For additional practice and work, I like to use Schaum's Fingerpower and have the student write out the notes then recite them aloud while playing the exercise. Read More

My teaching experience began about 2 years ago as I started teaching private lessons part time. I started out with beginning piano lessons in my home studio. While I do focus on the playing the instrument first and focusing on the subject at hand, I do switch up the activities. Read More

I like to begin all my students on a combination of technical studies and enjoyable/familiar melodies. This will help them learn the fundamentals in a rewarding way, because as they progress they will continue to learn new songs week after week. This is much more rewarding than checking of series of technical exercises. Additionally it is important to have both small goals to achieve each week and large goals to achieve over a number of months, so my students can be aware and proud of their progress over time. Music has been a big part of my entire life. I began playing piano at the age of 5 and flute at the age of 10. I was involved in the music program in my church as a teenager singing in the youth choir and playing in the handbell choir. I excelled in my music through high school which caused me to pursue music as a career. I was the principal flutist in the high school band and in the college band and orchestra. Read More
