I started playing the flute before 6th grade and instantly fell in love with the flute and with music. Inspired by the wonderful music teachers I had over the years, I strive to provide that same level of care, knowledge, fun, and passion for music to all of my students. In 2011, I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance. I am originally from Michigan and moved to Indiana to earn a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from Ball State University. Read More

Music has been a big part of my entire life. I began playing piano at the age of 5 and flute at the age of 10. I was involved in the music program in my church as a teenager singing in the youth choir and playing in the handbell choir. I try to learn quickly how my students learn best and then work with that to help them learn the material. With that I am more prepared to work with them and help set realistic goals for each lesson. I hope that through lessons I help them develop a passion for music as well as playing their instrument. I am always asking the student how they feel about the songs they play, what they want to learn, and making sure they are grasping the material so that I can encourage further learning with my students. I have been teaching for 30 years. The exciting thing is that private music lessons provides an opportunity to get to know students on an individual level.
