Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Flute, Piccolo
I started playing the flute before 6th grade and instantly fell in love with the flute and with music. Inspired by the wonderful music teachers I had over the years, I strive to provide that same level of care, knowledge, fun, and passion for music to all of my students. In 2011, I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance. I am originally from Michigan and moved to Indiana to earn a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from Ball State University. Read More

For any level of flute students I use the Rubank Method books. These books come in varying levels. I would assess what the student plays and knows and then figure out which book would best fit the student's abilities. As the student progresses, I will begin to search for supplemental books or repertoire based on the student's interests. In school, I like to mix it up with a variety of genres and styles to try to teach the students a better appreciation for a variety of music. Read More
Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Flute, Ukulele, Piccolo, Music, Keyboard
For beginning or new students I like to begin with the Faber and Faber lesson books, although I am flexible to use whatever methods course works best for each individual student. Once a student has some beginner playing skills and theory basics, I like to encourage them to pick songs that they enjoy playing. I focus on a combination of classical, Disney, pop, and jazz. I encourage students to practice on a regular basis, write in their music (if necessary), ask for help (communication with what is and isn't working is key to success), and to work in a step by step system to learning music. Instruments: Piano, Flute
I have used many methods books for piano and flute. When I started teaching lessons, I lived in a military town. Since these students moved a lot, I would continue teaching out of the books they were currently using to keep they're progress consistent. I still have this philosophy unless a student is unhappy with their current method. When I start a beginning student, I like to use Alfred's Premier Course. Read More
Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Trombone, Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe
As a teacher, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student develop a passion for music. If my students do not leave every lesson feeling inspired, encouraged, and wanting to practice and play music, then I am not doing my job. Just as I tailor each lesson to match the individual student, expect the student to grow and develop as a musician at his/her own pace. Ultimately, music is universally accessible and I want to foster a love and appreciation for listening to music as well as performing music. Read More
